P90x plus review
PX90 is a home fitness must-have as its effectiveness and 90-day guarantee makes it popular for those who want to lose weight and look better. Those who have completed one cycle of the original home fitness series and would like to add some variety to their workouts can try out the P90X Plus. Let’s see what you’d find in the box, shall we?
P90X Plus Workouts
As the name suggests, the P90X Plus is a supplement to the original P90X home fitness program. It adds 5 more workouts to the original’s 12, and focuses on chiselling your body further and developing the core muscles. Like the original’s exercises, the workouts in the supplement are designed around the muscle confusion training technique. It also includes intense cardio exercise so you can be sure you’ll be working up a sweat with the Plus. Here’s an overview of each of the 5 exercises:
Interval X Plus. If you like your cardio challenging, then you’ll love this workout. The Interval X Plus features three speeds (recovery, medium, and full-out) that’ll get your heart pumping and your body going.
Kenpo Cardio Plus. This is a more advanced version of the Kenpo workout found in the original P9OX, and it’s a workout developed to develop your stamina, balance, and agility.
Upper Plus. This pretty much takes care of every muscle group from your hips up. This is an intense upper body workout that will let you focus on your arms, chest, shoulders, and back.
Total Body Plus. This is a very good full body workout so you can expect to push yourself to the limit. It gives emphasis to core training so be prepared for some hard work.
Abs/Core Plus. This workout is pretty similar to the AbRipper X from the original P90x series, but it adds 4 different positions for developing your core (hanging, plank, standing, and sitting positions).
Additional Information
The supplementary kit comes with a fitness guide, downloadable worksheets, online peer support, and Tony’s Trainer Tracks. The fitness guide details the P90X Plus workout schedule incorporated to the P90X training routine, while the downloadable worksheets should help you in tracking your sets and reps. You can ask questions (if you have any) through the 24/7 online access to the program’s online community, and you can check out the DVD extras for tips on how you can maximize your workouts.
All things considered, the P90X Plus is a good addition to your P90X exercise routine. It has generally favourable reviews at Amazon where it has an average of 3.8 stars out of 5. Check it out for yourself to see if it’s for you.
